TDN Five/Partnership Criteria

Is your business ready for consideration?

These standards are commercial, not arbitrary. Review them honestly before you submit an inquiry.

Potential fit and not yet ready

Potential fit

What we look for

  • An existing operation, or a clearly defined commercial operation.
  • An identifiable customer and immediate market demand.
  • A specific product, service, or revenue model.
  • Demonstrated traction or a verifiable path to revenue.
  • Capable leadership willing to remain accountable.
  • Strategic fit with the existing portfolio.
  • A clear use for the requested capital or support.
  • Willingness to meet governance, reporting, and risk standards.

Not yet ready

What we decline

  • Idea-only concepts with no defined buyer.
  • Unverified financial claims.
  • No clear revenue model.
  • Requests for unrestricted funding.
  • Unwillingness to provide documentation.
  • Opportunities outside TDN Five’s risk parameters.
  • Businesses seeking only publicity or informal advice.

Evaluation sequence

Six stages, documented at each step.

Requests for material stay proportionate to the stage. Terms are written before anyone commits.

  1. 01Preliminary inquiry review

You send a short outline: what the business does, who it serves, how it earns revenue, and what is requested.

OutcomeAcknowledgement of receipt and a decision on whether to continue.

  2. 02Introductory call

A focused conversation with TDN Five leadership on the model, the operating team, ownership, and expectations.

OutcomeA shared understanding of the opportunity and the structure under discussion.

  3. 03Management and strategic-fit assessment

We review leadership, decision rights, reporting, and how the business would sit inside the portfolio.

OutcomeA view on whether a relationship would strengthen the business.

  4. 04Confidentiality agreement

Confidential material is exchanged only after a mutual confidentiality agreement is in place, where appropriate.

OutcomeA protected channel for sensitive documents.

  5. 05Due diligence

Financial, legal, operational, and market review, with proportionate and documented requests.

OutcomeOne evidence file that supports the discussion or closes it.

  6. 06Internal review and indicative terms

The opportunity is reviewed against portfolio strategy, risk parameters, and available capital.

OutcomeWritten indicative terms, or a clear written decline.
